Qubitcoin (QTC)

Qubitcoin (QTC) is a blockchain-based cryptocurrency using Quantum Proof-of-Work (qPoW) to enable decentralized mining and distributed quantum circuit simulation across nodes.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

About Qubitcoin

Qubitcoin (QTC) is a Layer-1 cryptocurrency that uses Quantum Proof of Work (qPoW). Miners simulate parameterized quantum circuits (currently 16-qubit) on GPUs instead of pure hash puzzles. The simulation results are combined with classical hashing to secure the chain. It is a Bitcoin Core fork, launched in October 2024 by the Superquantum team (U.S.-based non-profit with MIT/Vanderbilt roots). Supply is capped at 21 million QTC with a Bitcoin-like emission schedule (50 QTC initial reward, halving every 210,000 blocks). Target audience
GPU miners, quantum researchers and developers who want to contribute useful compute power to quantum circuit simulation. Problem addressed
Conventional Proof-of-Work wastes energy on purposeless hashing, while quantum simulation remains costly and centralized. Qubitcoin redirects mining incentives toward useful quantum simulations, creating a decentralized network that advances quantum algorithms and hardware benchmarking while securing a blockchain.
